The company

Who makes Beacon.

SYV Technologies LLC, an Illinois limited liability company, makes and operates Beacon. There is no sales team: the 60‑second demo and the demo district stand in for one.

Development began in September 2026. The hosted service opened the same month.

Your data is never stranded. If Beacon ever shuts down, every organization gets at least 90 days' notice, a full export and a refund of anything prepaid: Terms, section 14.

Legal notices: legal@beaconhelpdesk.com. Postal address for purchase orders and vendor forms: on request from the contact page.

If a web filter blocks this site

Ask your filter administrator to allow beaconhelpdesk.com, app.beaconhelpdesk.com and api.beaconhelpdesk.com under Business or Information Technology. All three serve only this product: no user-generated content, downloads or advertising. This site sets no cookies and loads no third-party script other than Vercel's page-view analytics.

Send the filter vendor's name to hello@beaconhelpdesk.com and we will file the request too.

Security and privacy

Written down, not promised.

Postgres row-level security isolates tenants, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and AI never trains on your data.

Agreements

How a district papers it.

Student data privacy agreement. Beacon acts as a school official under FERPA and signs the SDPC National Data Privacy Agreement and state addenda. Send yours to privacy@beaconhelpdesk.com. It comes back signed by email.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Swiss districts get a data processing addendum with standard contractual clauses on request.

Procurement. Prices are public and the same for every district. The free 90‑day pilot needs no paperwork, no card and no call, and converts to nothing on its own.

Districts buy by purchase order and invoice. How districts buy covers quotes, W‑9s and the price lock.

Security review. Questionnaires: security@beaconhelpdesk.com. Most answers are in the whitepaper.

The record

What changed, by date.

Every release, in plain language, dated the day it went live.

Not yet

What Beacon does not do today.

No Clever rosters

Clever is a sign-in provider only. People come from a CSV, a paste, a nightly Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra sync, a nightly PowerSchool sync with grades and classes, or students from ClassLink or a OneRoster export.

No SCCM or Jamf sync

Google Admin, Intune and Mosyle Manager sync nightly, read-only. Devices from Mosyle syncs iPads, iPhones, Macs and Apple TVs. Everything else imports from a CSV or a paste, matched by asset tag or serial number. A re-run updates rather than duplicates.

No Android app

The iOS app is in testing on TestFlight and not yet open to districts. The mobile web app covers any phone, minus the camera scanner.

Google's unverified-app notice

Google Admin access is read-only: Chrome devices, users and group members. Google's consent screen currently flags the app as unverified for those permissions. A Workspace administrator can continue past it.

See for yourself

The product is the pitch.

Sixty seconds of video, a demo district, or an account you create yourself.
